Red Cedar Spaced Picket Fence for Free Library
Fence City of Hatfield Pa. www.fencecity.com Donates a Red Cedar Spaced Picket Fence and installs a Little Free Library https://littlefreelibrary.org/profit for a non-profit organization on the Schuylkill River Trail https://schuylkillrivertrail.com/ in Norristown Pennsylvania.
Port Indian Civic & Boating Association (PIC&BA) http://www.portindian.org/ in Norristown Pennsylvania, sits along side the Schuylkill River and borders the Schuylkill River Trail (the bike path) decided to install a Little Free Library to have a place where anyone can come, sit and have a good read. The mission of the Little Free Library, a nonprofit organization, is to inspire a love of reading, build community, and spark creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world.
Once one of the PIC&BA members brought this idea to a membership meeting, they decided to install their library in their emergency parking lot along the bike path so everyone can enjoy it.
Fence City's owner thought it was a great idea and built a picket fence around the area that would enhance the library's appeal. Sals Nursery https://salsnursery.com/ donated a beautiful Eastern Redbud shade tree to add to Port Indian's Little Free Library.
Fence City has worked with other non-profits like Habitat For Humanity https://www.habitat.org/ at a play ground in Norristown and looks forward to other projects that serve our community.
